The production aims to offer a fresh, energetic take on a classic.

Cork Arts Theatre opens its 50th anniversary year with Infinity, written by Canadian playwright Hannah Moscovitch, and directed by Julie Kelleher.

It marks her first project since she stepped down from Coronation Street last autumn.

Composed by Leoš Janáček, the opera follows a young vixen who is captured by a forester but eventually escapes to the wild, exploring themes of freedom, nature and the cycle of life.

Actors should have strong voices and Irish rural accents with possibly one slight English accent.
