Theatre Nights: Joanne McNally, drama, and Judy tribute in Cork 

The triumphant sell-out run of The Sound Of Music at Cork Opera House has ended, and they are getting into their autumn season with renewed vigour (while the cast takes a well-deserved rest!).

Tomorrow or Saturday night, you can join that queen of Irish comedy Joanne McNally for a wild ride in Pinotphile, navigating situationships, revenge, frenemies and rejection in her own joyously nutty way.

Opening tonight at the Everyman is Judy – The End Of The Rainbow, a no-holds-barred look at the real and raw story behind the dazzle and glamour that surrounded the one and only Garland.

West End star Anna-Jane Casey takes the title role, with Will O’Connell as her accompanist, Darragh Shannon as her fiancé, and William Morgan as the interviewer. Opening tonight at Cork Arts Theatre, Sidh: Stories Of Women From Irish Mythology. Created and performed by Úna Ní Bhriain, and directed by Jenny White, this spellbinding show blends storytelling with performance, navigating power, war, resilience, desire, love, loss, and transformation.

A rather special film is coming up at the Briery Gap in Macroom next Tuesday, August 31, and also on Thursday, September 2. An Irish Atlantic Rainforest tells the story of Eoghan Daltun, a leading climate activist at the forefront of the battle to save native Irish rainforests in the face of climate change and political indifference.
