CMAT is at Virgin Media Park this Saturday. 

THEATRE

Saturday

Everyman Up Front, Everyman, 1pm, €8: Readings of never-before-heard plays as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival. This one is Comrade by Bob Kelly, a moving and intimate play about friendship, loyalty and the personal cost of revolution. Something Borrowed is read at 4pm, and Double at 3.30pm on Sunday.

Pool (No Water), Everyman, 7pm, €25: The play continues at the disused swimming pool under the Metropole Hotel, as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival, blurring the boundaries between installation, physical theatre and live art. Also Sunday.

Constellations, Cork Arts Theatre, 2pm & 8.30pm, €24: A stirring love story with infinite possibilities, after a quantum physicist and a beekeeper meet at a barbecue. Last performances.

Sunday

Paul Tiernan, Levi’s Corner House, Ballydehob, 7.30pm, €20: An evening of songs, stories, and finely crafted songwriting.

MUSIC

Saturday

Shuteen Erdenebaatar Quartet, Triskel Arts Centre, 8pm, €26: One of the most exciting emerging voices in jazz, Mongolian pianist and composer Erdenebaatar brings her acclaimed quartet to Cork as part of a nationwide tour.

CMAT, Virgin Media Park, 5pm, €59.90: The 30-year-old Irish star brings her acclaimed tour to Cork.

Ceiliúradh Grianstad / Solstice Celebration, Ionad Cultúrtha, Baile Mhúirne, 6pm, €15-20: Celebrate the solstice a day early with music, storytelling, and shenanigans.

George Houston, Levi’s Corner House, Ballydehob, 8pm, €16: The rising star from Donegal performs what has been dubbed folk rock/vintage pop.

John Blek, Sea Church, Ballycotton, 8pm, €20: Lush alternative folk rock as the Cork man plays a home county gig.

Sunday

Fingerprints, Triskel Arts Centre, 2pm & 7pm, €15/12: A fully improvised live performance experience as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival, where music, drawing and movement interact in real time.

OTHER EVENTS

Saturday

Cork Summer Show, Showgrounds, Curraheen, 9am-6pm, €25, U16 free but still require ticket: The annual agricultural jamboree takes place on Saturday and Sunday. A fun day out for all the family, see the programme at corksummershow.com

1975 / Naoi Déag Seachtó Cúig – Teac Damsa, Cork Opera House, 8.30pm, €32: Final chance to see this dance and theatre performance, set to the iconic 1975 album by Irish traditional group The Bothy Band.

Al Porter : Algorithm, Cyprus Avenue, 7pm, €27.50: A unique brand of exciting, energetic and fun loving comedy

Sunday

Glitz, Glam, Giveback - Ccp Fundraiser Gala, The Pavilion, 8pm, €15: Fundraiser showcasing drag performances from Kenny Todgers, Karma O’Hara, and Hun McCool among others.
