MTU students in their final year of the BA in theatre and drama studies are all set to stage Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night which runs from tonight until Saturday, January 24.

The production is described as a romantic comedy filled with mistaken identities, unexpected love, and uproarious mischief. After a shipwreck separates her from her twin brother, Viola disguises herself as a man and enters the service of Duke Orsino — only to find herself entangled in a love triangle where nothing is quite as it seems.

The production aims to offer a fresh, energetic take on a classic that celebrates the power of love, laughter, and live theatre.

Performances will be held at the Stack Theatre in the MTU Cork School of Music at 7.30pm with an additional matinée performance on Thursday, January 22 at 2pm. Tickets are on the MTU events website.

The play is directed by Regina Crowley who has worked professionally in theatre since the late 1980s and is a founder member of Gaitkrash Theatre Company.
