The National Lottery confirmed that Tuesday's life-changing jackpot was won by a customer who purchased the ticket in Cork city centre.

The win has set the record for the largest prize ever won in the country.

A National Lottery player in Cork has scooped the top prize of €1 million in last night’s Millionaire Raffle draw.

Winning tickets were sold in shops in Cork city and surrounding areas. 

The Cork player was among 10 winners to scoop the special raffle prize which was the eighth of twelve draws in the National Lottery’s ‘12 Draws of Christmas’ promotion.   

The ’12 Draws of Christmas’ promotion means that ten players scoop €50,000 each in every EuroMillions draw every Tuesday and Friday between November 15 and December 23.
