Somebody in Westmeath has become over €6.2 million richer after winning the lotto jackpot on Wednesday night.

The big win comes just days after another local player won a EuroDreams tier two prize worth €2,000 a month for five years.

The Westmeath winner has become the ninth lotto jackpot winner of 2025, joining a winning line-up from Louth, Dublin, Kerry, Limerick, Kilkenny, Mayo, and Waterford.

The win also makes them the 26th National Lottery millionaire of the year.

Elsewhere, a Cork player is also celebrating on Thursday after matching five numbers and the bonus to secure a prize of €122,669.

Their quick pick ticket was purchased on December 2nd from Broderick’s Shop, Shanagarry Cross, Shanagarry, Midleton, Co Cork.

The winning numbers from last night’s draw were 4, 21, 23, 27, 34, 38 and the Bonus was 37.

The National Lottery has confirmed that the store location where the winning lotto jackpot ticket was purchased will be announced on Friday.

National Lottery spokesperson, Darragh O’Dwyer, said: “We’re thrilled to announce Ireland’s newest millionaire, who has won an incredible €6,241,505 in last night’s Lotto draw.

"What makes this win even more remarkable is that it’s the second big prize to land in Westmeath this week. On Monday, a player in the county scooped the EuroDreams tier two prize worth €2,000 a month for five years, and now, just days later, we have a Lotto jackpot winner taking home €6,241,505.

"Add to that, Sunday’s Daily Million top prize win of €1 million in Cavan, makes this an extraordinary week of big wins for our players! In total, the National Lottery has created 26 millionaires so far this year."

The National Lottery is urging all players in the Westmeath and Cork areas to check their tickets carefully and if yo are holding the winning ticket, be sure to contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize.
