EUROMILLIONS players in Cork are being urged to check their tickets with Tuesday’s Match 5 winner yet to come forward.

The Rebel County player scooped €202,576 after matching five numbers in the May 7 draw to become the biggest winner in Ireland.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Monday, May 6 at Murphy’s Grocery in Rockchapel, Mallow.

Jerome Murphy who has owned the store with his sister Lorraine since 1988 was thrilled to hear the good news.

“There’s been some amount of excitement around the place since word got out about the win.

"This is the biggest prize that we have ever sold so it’s great news all round really – for the winner, the store and the area.

"We’ve been telling all of our customers to get checking their tickets.

"While we do have a lot of locals who come into us, we do get a good bit of passing trade and sure for the weekend that was in it with it being the May Bank Holiday, the winner really could be anywhere. Here’s hoping they check their ticket soon and claim their huge prize.”

The winning numbers in the Tuesday draw were: 35, 36, 41, 42, 45 and the lucky stars were 06, 11.

National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr appealed to Cork players to check their tickets as soon as possible.

“We are eager to hear from a Cork EuroMillions player who now has a ticket worth an incredible €202,576," she said.

"It’s important to note that the winning ticket was a Quick Pick which was purchased the day before the draw on Monday 6th May.

"With last weekend being a Bank Holiday, the winner could have been passing through the area and purchased their tickets on their travels or of course they could even be a local.

"The ticket could be sitting in someone’s pocket who is unaware that they have a big prize waiting for them! The key information to remember is that the winning ticket was purchased in the Mallow area at Murphy’s Grocery in Rockchapel who are one of our Payzone stores.

"Their National Lottery tickets print on white paper instead of the usual larger tickets commonly seen nationwide which may sound very familiar to the Cork player who now has a ticket worth €202,576.”

“The Rebel County winner is advised to sign their ticket and keep it safe. They should contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to visit Lotto HQ to collect their prize.”

Meanwhile, it could be a Friday night to remember for EuroMillions players in Ireland with tonight’s jackpot set to roll towards an estimated €40 million.
