Bride Rovers moved back into sole ownership of the lead in Division 2 of the RedFM Hurling League as they won at home to Ballymartle on Sunday morning.
The Rathcormac/Bartlemy side had gone into the weekend level at the top with Erin’s Own but the postponement of the Caherlag outfit’s game with Kanturk allowed the Rovers to move two points clear as they won by 1-22 to 1-15.
Cork panellist Brian Roche scored three points as he played the first half, with Ronan O’Connell had six points from play and Adam Walsh impressed from dead balls while Louie Roche got the goal.
Balincollig came from six points down to salvage a draw at home to Na Piarsaigh on Friday night.
The northsiders had led by 0-10 to 0-9 at half-time, with Ross O’Sullivan converting four frees while wing-back Kevin Moynihan landed three points, and they pushed on impressively in the fourth quarter.
Peter Lehane’s goal and a point from Pádraig Guest helped them into a 1-14 to 0-11 lead, with Cian Buckley on song in the half-back line, but they were not score again. Fenton Denny and David O’Sullivan led the Ballincollig fightback while Theo Morgan, Adam Wills and his brother Stephen, who finished with 0-5, weighed in on the scoreboard.

In the first half, Cian O’Driscoll and Tadhg O’Connell had scored two points apiece for the mid-Cork side, who have lost just one of their six games and remain in a share of third place with Newcestown, who beat Valley Rovers.
Richard O’Sullivan and Edmund Kenneally (free) had the goals as the Carbery side beat their neighbours by 2-18 to 0-18, with Jack and Luke Meade and their cousin, goalkeeper Cathal Wilson, among the point-scorers.
In the other game, Seán Andrews’ last-minute goal gave Carrigaline their a 3-15 to 2-16 win against Newtownshandrum.
The south-east side had led for much of the match, helped by two Kevin O’Reilly goals, but Ronan Geary and Kieran Sullivan raised green flags for Newtown as they hit the front but Carrig, playing their first game since the untimely passing of Darragh King, responded strongly to claim their first victory of the campaign. Brian Kelleher and Éanna Desmond were among the points for the winners.
Blarney are top of Division 3 on their own after their 0-19 to 0-12 win over Russell Rovers moved them to ten points. Éire Óg had been level with their Muskerry neighbours but a 1-17 to 1-13 defeat by Bandon saw the Lilywhites leapfrog them to move to second.
Charlie Long netted Bandon’s goal, with Mike Cahalane, Darren Crowley and Mark Sugrue making their mark on the scoresheet.
