Patrick Horgan hit 1-9 as the Glen Rovers defeated Douglas away from home in the Division 1 RedFM Hurling League.
Dean Brosnan also contributed 1-4, as the club recorded just their second win of the season after getting the better of Sarsfields in round one.
This followed a draw with Carrigtwohill and defeats to Midleton, Blackrock and Charleville, and Tomás Mulcahy’s side got the job done in the second half in wet conditions. That was after a period that saw Douglas lead 0-7 to 0-2 inside 15th minutes and the two clubs drew level three times before the break.
The home side were well in control early on with Diarmuid Coleman hitting 0-3 from frees, and Andy O’Connell splitting the posts twice from play.
Stephen Lynam went for goal in response, only to see his effort stopped by Donal Maher. The resulting 65 was easily put over by Horgan, making it 0-7 to 0-3 in the 17th minute, just as the rain started coming down.
The moment that changed the game was Brosnan’s goal in the 19th minute, as it drew the two clubs level at 0-7 to 1-4.
It was tit for tat before the break. The Glen’s Mark Dooley ensured parity on the whistle with a well-worked score from play to make it 0-10 to 1-7.

Lee Quilligan put the Glen in front within seconds of the restart, and Horgan followed that up by converting a free from right in front of the posts.
Douglas carved out a goal chance during their first advance of the second half, and Coleman flicked the sliotar wide near the back post in the 35th minute.
The forward made amends by cancelling out Horgan’s only point from play, as the Glen led 1-10 to 0-11.
Something clicked with the Glen at that moment, as they went on to dominate play all over the pitch.
Douglas only scored four more times, while the northsiders were able to generate 1-8 despite the worsening conditions.
Horgan stole the show during these exchanges with a goal from close range in the 53rd minute, making it 2-16 to 0-14.
The Glen would have got more if not for the goalkeeping done by Maher to stop a number of shots late in the game.
Brosnan wrapped things up, with an effort from Conor O’Donovan too little too late for Douglas in added time.
