The Lord Mayor of Cork councillor Dan Boyle has presented the beneficiaries of the 2024 Lord Mayor’s Gala Christmas Concert with their cheques at an event at City Hall.

The gala concert took place at City Hall on December 17 and raised a total of €24,000.

This sum of money was distributed equally between Cork Penny Dinners, Balance Summer Camp and Inclusive Dance Cork, all of which were chosen by the Lord Mayor.

Speaking at the cheque presentation, the Lord Mayor said: “The 2024 Gala Christmas Concert was a wonderful occasion and I am thrilled to present its proceeds to these remarkable organisations who carry out incredible work in our city.

“I’d like to thank the people of Cork for their unwavering support of the concert each year, all of our patron and corporate sponsors and our fantastic team of volunteers”.

Representatives from the chosen organisations spoke of their gratitude receiving the cheques and they also outlined the significant impact the funds will have on their services.
