RTÉ stars urge Cork public to back hospice fundraiser

Broadcaster Laura Fox and former RTÉ news presenter Eileen Dunne are encouraging people across Cork to get behind a major national fundraiser supporting hospices in Ireland, including Marymount University Hospital & Hospice.

The 2FM presenter and ex-news anchor have joined forces with hospice patient Declan Moore, who said the care he received saved his life.

The trio are urging the public to back the hospice morning coffee fundraiser on September 24 at hospicecoffeemorning.ie.

Communities in Cork are being asked to support this year’s fundraiser by hosting or attending a coffee morning in gardens, community centres, and sports clubs across the county.

Sarah McCloskey, CEO of Marymount University Hospital & Hospice, said all funds raised will go towards supporting hospices nationwide.

Last year, the coffee morning fundraiser generated €2.1m across 2,330 events, helping to care for 20,000 patients and their families.
