A status orange wind warning has been issued for Cork and three other counties as Storm Kathleen is set to hit Ireland this weekend.
The warning, issued this morning for counties Cork, Kerry, Galway and Mayo, will come into effect at 7am on Saturday and will remain in place until 5pm.
According to Met Éireann, possible impacts could include very difficult travel conditions, fallen trees, some power outages, coastal flooding and wave overtopping.

Storm Kathleen will bring gale force southerly winds, with some severe and damaging gusts.

A separate countrywide status yellow wind waring has been issued for Saturday, lasting from 7am to 8pm.
A number of marine warnings have also been issued for tomorrow, including a status yellow gale warning from Mizen Head to Valentia to Loop Head.
The national forecaster said south to southwest winds will occasionally reach gale force.
