The Cork County Board have been forced to call off Saturday's hurling finals at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh forward due to the orange weather warning.

The throw-in times to Agabullogue v Bandon in the Intermediate A decider and Bride Rovers against Castlelyons at Senior A level were twice changed in a bid to facilitate the double-header.

The weather warning is in place from 9pm on Saturday night, but heavy rain throughout the day meant it was too risky to proceed with the Cork County Board pulling the plug less than two hours before the Intermediate A final had been due to start.

Those two matches now go back to next weekend as part of a triple-header on Saturday along with Buttevant against St Nick's in the Premier Junior Football.

Aghabullogue are also in the Premier Intermediate football final where they'll face Uibh Laoire at the start of November.

"Following a meeting, the CCC has decided that today’s Co-Op Superstores Intermediate A and Senior A Hurling Finals are postponed," a statement reads.

"This decision has been made to ensure the safety of all patrons wishing to attend the games.

"The finals have been rescheduled as follows:

Saturday, October 25th

SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh

3pm, PJFC Final: Buttevant vs St. Nick’s

5pm IAHC Final: Aghabullogue vs Bandon

7pm SAHC Final: Bride Rovers vs Castlelyons"

There is also a hurling double bill on Sunday at 1.15pm and 3.15pm. Ballinhassig face Ballincollig in the Premier Intermediate tier with Sarsfields taking on Midleton at Premier Senior, which is being shown live on RTE 2.

Unlike the Intermediate A and Senior A grades, there is a Munster campaign next month for the winner of Sunday's games. With replays built in if the finals are drawn, there was less scope in the Cork GAA calendar to move them.

The first county final of the weekend in the Páirc on Friday saw Glen Rovers beaten by Kilbrittain at Premier Junior level after an exciting contest.
