It was a night of celebration at the Reardens All-Star awards recently and none more so than for St Finbarr’s senior camogie players.
They had nine players named on the camogie side, a testament to their magnificent county championship victory, their first since 2006.
They were followed by Sarsfields with four, with Glen Rovers and Cloughduv having a player each to make up the side.

It ended 2024 on a high note for the Barrs with some of their side also collecting All-Ireland championship, Munster championship and intermediate league medals with Cork along the way as well.

Every team needs a leader they don’t come much better than the Barrs captain, Stephanie Punch. She is a tenacious defender and played a huge role in her club’s success this season.
At the awards she thanked the organisers for holding this event every year and Stephanie Punch was also delighted to see so many of her team honoured.

“It’s a great night and I would like to congratulate all the awardees, across the camogie, ladies football, hurling and football sides,” said Stephanie.
“To see club players honoured in this way is a great initiative by Reardens and The Echo and hopefully it will continue going forward.

“I wouldn’t have fancied being a judge as there were so many great players across all four competitions and to pick 15 from each must have been very tough.

"It was great to see so many of my teammates honoured and it ended 2024 in a brilliant way for us.

“We are enjoying the downtime at the moment but also looking forward to getting going again early in the new year and hopefully can retain our title."
