A group calling itself Palestine Action Éire has claimed responsibility for what gardaí have described as “a criminal damage incident” at the Cork premises of a multinational logistics firm in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

In an email sent to media, the group claimed it had broken windows and daubed red paint on the Little Island premises of DB Schenker, a subsidiary of Danish transport and logistics firm DSV.

The group said it acted in protest against logistics services it alleged were provided by the company to Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems. It said this was its second such incident targeting DSV in recent weeks.

Palestine Action Éire has previously claimed responsibility for several incidents at premises it said were linked to Israeli interests, including a number of incidents at the Cork city premises of Collins Aerospace.

The Garda Press Office said gardaí had received a report of a criminal damage incident at a business premises in Little Island on Monday, May 5, at approximately 3am.

They added that enquiries were ongoing.

DSV has multiple branches in Ireland, including locations in Dublin, Cork, and Shannon, offering services in air, sea, and road freight, as well as warehousing solutions.

The company employs approximately 400 people in Ireland.

Founded in 1976, DSV has offices in more than 80 countries and employs more than 76,000 people worldwide.

Contacted for comment, a spokesperson for the company in Little Island said they had no comment.
