Cycling for All Cork group wins overall Lord Mayor’s award

Cycling for All Cork were named the overall winners of the
Lord Mayor’s Civic, Community and Voluntary Awards 2026[/url] at a ceremony at City Hall last night.
The group runs tailored cycling sessions designed to accommodate a wide range of abilities, providing support and adaptive equipment. They were among those shortlisted in the Recreation, Sport, Health and Wellbeing category, where Cork City Athletic Club were named the winners.
There were five further category winners announced, including Graffiti Theatre Company for the Arts, Culture and Heritage category, and Togher Tidy Towns in the Climate Action and Sustainable Development category.
The Dillons Cross Project were named the winners in the area of Community Development and Lifelong Learning, Boxing Clever Cork for Social Inclusion, Advocacy and Integration, and Saoirse Ethnic Hands on Deck for Social Enterprise Innovation.
Individual awards were also presented to Patricia Cotter of Cork City Partnership; Victor Tabone of the Togher Community Association; Damien Cuffe for leading the restoration of the Moore family home; Olive Morris for empowering young people; John Wiseman, for his contribution to boxing and Cobh Ramblers’ Handsome Bob O’Donovan for his contribution to football. Gerry Kelly and Evelyn Grant of Cork Pops received the Lord Mayor’s culture award.
A special community spirit award was also presented posthumously to Mark O’Connor, in recognition of his dedication to supporting cancer survivors and his work with the Cork Dragons.
