RTÉ's John Creedon to host free screening event on rare trades of Ireland

John Creedon is to host Masters: The Stories Behind the Skills, a free screening of the TV show about rare trades in Ireland.

The event, at Ballineen-Enniskeane Community Hall on Wednesday, August 19, from 3pm to 5pm, will offer audiences an opportunity to step behind the scenes of the recent TV series by the Heritage Council, RTÉ, and Coimisiún na Meán.

Attendees can enjoy screenings of two episodes featuring stonemason Julia Gebel and clockmaker Philip Stokes as they discuss the creation of a commemorative bust of Dick Barrett, and the restoration of Cork’s historic Shandon clock, respectively.

The screenings will be followed by a discussion, hosted by presenter Mr Creedon, with Ms Gebel, Mr Stokes, Heritage Council CEO Virginia Teehan, and filmmaker Barry Donnellan. The event will also feature a contribution from minister of State for nature, heritage, and biodiversity, Christopher O’Sullivan.
