Munster Technological University (MTU) celebrated the exceptional academic achievements of six students at its annual Faculty Awards ceremony.

The event honoured students from both the business-health and social-sciences faculties who attained the highest academic grades across their programmes.

Students Yvonne O’Connell, from Ballinhassig, Alex McCarthy, from Ballyvolane, Hannah Falvey, from Ballincollig, Megan Buckley, from Rathcormac, Conor Twomey, from Gurranabraher, and Suzanne Pawlak, from Charleville, were all recipients of memorial awards for their achievements in their respective faculties.

Addressing students and guests, Dr Noel Murray, the dean of the faculty of business, and Dr Mary Galvin, the dean of the faculty of health and social sciences, praised the awardees for their achievements.

“Our awardees represent the best of what MTU stands for — academic achievement, personal growth, and an eagerness to contribute meaningfully to their professions and communities,” said Dr Galvin.

“We are incredibly proud of our graduates.

“Their achievements signal the beginning of bright futures, and we look forward to seeing the impact they will make locally, nationally, and internationally.”

The evening featured a showcase of excellence across a wide range of disciplines, including business, accounting, marketing, aviation, human-resource management, social care, community development, sport, early childhood education, and the culinary and hospitality fields.

Students and staff from the department of tourism and hospitality contributed to the event by preparing and presenting a reception, showcasing the department’s commitment to experiential learning and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Graduates at the celebration were invited to stay connected through the MTU Alumni Network, reinforcing MTU’s mission to cultivate lifelong learning and strong graduate networks that support ongoing growth, innovation, and regional development.
