Cork City Fire Brigade uses special kit to resuscitate dog rescued from house fire

A dog who was in a smoke logged house was rescued by Cork City Fire Brigade officers and helped to breathe again by application of the canine resuscitation kit. The dog made a full recovery. Picture: Cork City Council's account on X.
Members of the Cork City Fire Brigade attending a smoke logged house earlier this week used a special canine resuscitation kit to help a dog who had been in the building resume normal breathing, it has been confirmed.
Victor Shine, the Cork City Fire Brigade Second Officer, told
that the animal had been identified by the family as being in the house when crews from the Fire Brigade were attending the scene.“Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the house and located the dog,” he said.

“The animal was brought outside.
“A specialised mask was put on the dog and with the oxygen, he regained normal breathing and has made a full recovery.”
