A Defence Forces vehicle was involved in a single vehicle crash on the Old Youghal Road in Cork on Thursday afternoon, it has been confirmed.
According to Gardaí, there was no one injured in the incident which caused a considerable amount of debris to be scattered on the road.
A Defence Forces investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances around how the Ford Transit Minibus Crew Cab crashed through a wall at Collins Barracks, protruding out onto a section of road.
Images of the incident have circulated on social media.
Locals have been advised to drive with caution in the area.
A spokesperson for the Defence Forces confirmed that an incident occurred at Collins Barracks in Cork on Thursday.
“Thankfully no one was injured.
“Due to the ongoing investigation, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time,” said the spokesperson.
