Gardaí in Cork have recovered what has been described as a “large quantity” of counterfeit money in North Cork, with businesses urged to be vigilant in checking cash payments.
The fraudulent cash was recovered by Gardaí during a search yesterday.
In a post on social media, Gardaí said that “following reports of fake notes being tendered in the area recently”, Gardaí in Mallow carried out a search and recovered a “large quantity of fake money”.
“Businesses are advised to be vigilant as some of these notes may still be in circulation,” Gardaí said.
