Cork city hit by flooding for third consecutive night

High tide on Tuesday morning is at 6.41am. Areas that could be affected include South Terrace; Sawmill Street; Rutland Street; White Street; South Mall; Union Quay; Morrisons’ Island; Wandesford Quay; Lavitt’s Quay (pictured). Crosses’ Green

PARTS of Cork City Centre have experienced flooding due to high tide this evening.

High tide at 6.22pm brought flooding at Lavitt's Quay, South Terrace and Union Quay.

In an update on social media, Cork City Council said after high tide: "The river is now dropping, currently measuring at 2.5m. Our crews are still out assisting the public and continue to monitor the situation.

"Thank you to our crews this evening for working hard to assist the people of Cork during this evening's flooding event."

High tide on Tuesday morning is at 6.41am.

Areas that could be affected include South Terrace; Sawmill Street; Rutland Street; White Street; South Mall; Union Quay; Morrisons’ Island; Wandesford Quay; Lavitt’s Quay. Crosses’ Green.
