A rain warning for Cork set to come into effect tomorrow morning has been upgraded to a status orange warning.
Met Éireann this afternoon updated its weather warnings, upgrading and extending the rain warning for Cork, which will now come into effect at 6am tomorrow and will remain in place for a 24-hour period.
The national weather forecaster said there will be spells of heavy over the period and blustery east to southeast winds at times.
Impacts of the weather conditions are likely to include localised flooding, poor visibility, difficult driving conditions and possible wave overtopping at high tide.
Meanwhile, a status yellow rain warning will come into effect for counties Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Kilkenny and Wexford at 6am tomorrow. It is also set to remain for 24-hours.
A status yellow rain warning has been issued by Met Éireann for Cork and Kerry, with heavy rain giving rise to potential localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.
The warning will come into effect and 10am tomorrow and is expected to remain in place until midnight.
Conditions today are due to remain mostly settled, with just some occasional patchy light rain or drizzle developing in the southwest.

It will be cool, with highest afternoon temperatures reaching about 10 to 13 degrees, in a light to moderate east to southeast wind.
Cloud overnight will thicken and the rain will spread to most parts of Munster by morning, according to the national forecaster.
There will be light to moderate easterly winds at first but they will freshen overnight.
Meanwhile, temperatures will dip to lows of between four and 12 degrees in Munster tonight.
Tomorrow will be wet and breezy.
Rain will be heavy and thundery at times and localised flooding is possible.
Highest temperatures will remain around 10 to 14 degrees, in a fresh to strong and gusty east to southeast wind.
The national outlook for the remainder of the week says conditions will become milder “but unsettled with rain and showers every day”.
