Close call for driver as van goes up in flames on the South Link

Cork City Fire Brigade attended a blazing car fire just off the South Link road this evening.
Two crews from Anglesea Street responded to a call-out at 4.45pm after the engine of a van went up in flames and came to a stop at the Sarsfield Road Roundabout.

The firefighters quickly put out the fire and thankfully no one was injured in the incident.
While it was around rush hour, the Fire Brigade said, with Covid-19, the traffic was not as bad as usual.

Traffic restrictions were implemented while the fire was being put out and the vehicle removed.
