Wedding of the Week: Cork couple enjoy 'day we will cherish forever'

A COUPLE who met on a night out through mutual friends were married recently.
Emma Cotter, from Farranree, and Eoin Murphy, from Ballygarvan, met in summer, 2012. They now live in the northside of the city.
They were married in the Kinsale Hotel and Spa on Easter Saturday March 30, 2024.
Recalling their first meeting, Emma said: “We met through mutual friends on a night out in Havana Browns. As days and weeks went on we got closer and closer.”
Eoin met Emma’s two daughters, Ella and Freya, and she explained; “I knew Eoin was a keeper the way he was with my daughters.”
They went on to have a daughter together, Sienna, in 2017, and son Ethan in 2020.
Recalling the engagement, Emma said: “Eoin proposed to me on my birthday in 2018, it was perfect, surrounded by all my family.”
When the time came to plan their wedding, they always loved Kinsale, “especially The Kinsale Hotel and Spa so we both knew that was the perfect venue for our Special Day,” the bride said. “The hotel and the surrounding grounds and view is amazing, the management and all staff were so professional in their roles.”
The bride wore a dress from Diamond Bridal, while Marie from House of Marie did the alterations.
Hair was by Christine O’Sullivan Bridal Hair and Portrait by Jessica was the make-up artist.
Eoin and the groomsmen were suited by Red Church. Son Ethan had his suit matching his daddy’s.
They had around 150 guests, including family and friends.
“It was perfect and extra special,” said Emma, who added that it was “such a proud moment having my three daughters walk down the aisle with me”.
Their son Ethan was Eoin’s ‘little best man’.
Emma added: “It was so special having my two boys standing at the top of the aisle for me.”
They were married by celebrant Geraldine O’Neill.
The bride said: “We did our vows and a vow to our children it was just beautiful and so special.”
Fiana Ni Choniall was the harpist.
Guests enjoyed a wonderful drinks reception outdoors, overlooking the bay.
They had John Frawley, ‘singing chef’, during the meal, who was loved by all the guests.
Pat Fitz Wedding Band entertained guests into the night.
“Our day was just perfect, a day we will always cherish. So special with our close family and friends,” Emma concluded.
