Wedding of the Week: Cork couple say special day 'meant the world to us'

A COUPLE who got engaged live on stage at Cork Pride in 2021 have married.

Jennifer and Caroline Bailey were wed at the Oriel House Hotel on April 12, 2024.

Jennifer (nee Bowler) is from Tralee in County Kerry, and Caroline is from Glanmire. The couple now live in Castlemartyr.

Recalling how they first met, Jennifer said: “We met at a charity gig for Pieta House in a bar in Cork in 2014.”

Jennifer got her dress in Vows, and Caroline got hers in Diamond Bridal.

Caroline’s make-up was by Tasha from Guilty Salon in Blarney, and her hair was done by Laura from Prestige Hair, Glanmire.

Jennifer’s make-up was done by Karen Cronin and her hair by Chloe from Prestige Hair Glanmire.

Among the guests were Caroline’s dad, sisters, nieces and nephews, as well as Jennifer’s aunt, uncle and cousins.

For the bridal party, Caroline had Rachael, Shane, Ellie and Katiana, while Jennifer had Muireann, Craig, Ger and Greg.

Recalling the special day, Jennifer said: “Linda Foley, our celebrant, was outstanding. She made the ceremony so personal and lovely.”

After the ceremony, the reception continued at The Oriel House Hotel.

The cake was made by Trace of Cakes and was amazing.

The band was J90 and they had the dancefloor full all night long.

Their first dance was to a mash up of Celine Dion and Maniac 2000.

As to what was the most memorable thing about the day?

“To have our closest family and friends altogether to celebrate our relationship meant the world to us,” they said.
