Wedding of the Week: Reliving the day all over again in a special photo shoot

It's not often you get to relive your wedding day all over again - but that is what Cork couple Aleksandra Radosz Skurzewska and Norbert Skurzewski did this year.

ONE couple got to relive their wedding day 12 months later — with a special photo shoot at Toe Head Bay and Duneen Beach.

Aleksandra Radosz Skurzewska, who runs a beauty salon in Cork city with her mother, and Norbert Skurzewski a technical support manager in SolarWinds, were wed last year.

They were meant to have a special on location photo shoot shortly after their special day — but due to the bad weather, holidays and lockdown, it was put off, until it finally took place in April — and here are the stunning results.

The couple are both from Poland. Aleksandra moved to Douglas with her family when she was 12 and Norbert moved to Blarney with his family when he was 13. They live in Midleton.

The couple met while both were studying at CIT and were engaged at home on Christmas Eve, 2017.

They met in CIT, Aleksandra was studying Fine Art and Norbert was doing IT Management, and they got engaged at home on Christmas Eve in 2017.

They decided on an intimate wedding at The Midleton Park Hotel, where they hosted their civil ceremony and reception. They got married in the hotel gardens on April 23, 2019.

Photographer on the wedding day itself was Anna Bonikowska, who’s captured their special day beautifully.

Aleksandra said she tried on a hundred dresses before she found the one, a Mori Lee dress in Vows Wedding Store in Blarney.

Her husband got his suit and shoes from Mick Murphy Menswear at North Main Street.

The couple said they made their own invitations, while Aleksandra did the flower bouquets and flower centrepiece for the reception, as well as a headpiece for her maid of honour.

The three tier marzipan, chocolate and cherry cake was made by Norbert’s mother.

Commenting on the location shoot, which the couple had earlier this year, with another photographer, Anna Groniecka, Aleksandra said: “I’ve known Anna for years as we have done several creative portrait and fashion shoots before. She’s a true professional and a lovely person.”

Make-up was done by Amy Hamilton @amakupbyamyhx and hair was by Lisa’s Studio.

Aleksandra added: “We cannot recommend the whole team enough!

“It was quite fun to wear the dress and the suit once more, people passing by were congratulating us, thinking we just got married, and that’s exactly how we felt.”
