Saturday sport: Galway earn important win over Derry, Ulster beat Leinster in Belfast

Galway kicked off their All Ireland Football Championship campaign with a big win over Derry this evening.
The hosts in Salthill came away with a 2-14 to 15 point victory.

The visitors played the majority of the game with 14 men after a first half red card for Gareth McKinless.
Last year's finalists Kerry strolled to a 24 point to 1-11 win over Monaghan in Killarney.
33-year-old Paul Geaney was joint top scorer today with 5 points from play.
Kingdom boss Jack O'Connor says it was brilliant to see him lead by example.
Mayo had no problems getting past Cavan by 20 points to 1-8 in Castlebar.
Cork are leading Clare in Ennis by 1-6 to 4 points.
Kilkenny handed Dublin their first loss in the Leinster Hurling championship this evening.
Eoin Cody's late goal handed the Cats a 1-28 to 2-23 victory in Parnell Park.
Galway breathed some life into their campaign - they came from behind to beat Antrim by 2-25 to 1-14 in Corrigan Park.
Rugby
A last gasp John Cooney penalty helped Ulster beat Leinster in their URC interpro this evening.
The visitors missed the chance to go top of the table as they left Belfast with a 23-21 defeat.
Connacht suffered a disappointing 16-12 loss to the Stormers in Galway this evening.

Tributes have been paid to the family of Tony O'Reilly who has died at the age of 88.
The centre made his international debut for Ireland at the age of 18 and went on to earn 29 caps for his country.
He also became the youngest ever Lion in the same year when they shared the series 2-2 with South Africa.
Following his retirement, he became well known in the business world.
Athletics
Sharlene Mawdsley secured the automatic Olympic standard in the 400 metres in Poland this afternoon.
The Newport sprinter clocked a time of 50-point 7-2 seconds this afternoon, more than two tenths of a second below the Olympic threshold.
Mawdsley joins Rhasidat Adeleke as the Irish athletes who've qualified for the discipline at this summer's games in Paris.
Golf
Shane Lowry is making a charge on moving day of the PGA Championship at Valhalla.
The Offaly native is 6 under thru 9 holes, to move up to 10 under par and a tie for 3rd place.
Rory McIlroy is also on the move and lies on 3 under thru 9 and 8 under all round.
Xander Schauffele still leads the way on 12-under.
