Man (20s) arrested in connection with hit-and-run in Co Cavan

A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Loreto Wood, Co Cavan, last Tuesday.

The incident occurred on the L1513 at Drumlark, involving a car and a pedestrian.

A woman in her 20s was injured and taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot. The passenger, a man in his 20s, was seriously injured.

He was removed from the scene to Cavan General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s, and he is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a station in the Garda North Western Region.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
