Gardaí are investigating a serious assault in south Dublin.

A woman in her 30s was stabbed in the leg and back in the early hours of the morning in Ballyogan, Dublin 18.

She was taken to St Vincent's Hospital to be treated for "serious but non-life threatening injuries".

Gardaí at Cabinteely said investigations were ongoing.
