Douglas were pushed all the way by Kildare outfit Newbridge Town at Moneygourney last Saturday evening and they couldn’t be separated after 90 pulsating minutes with the game scoreless.

The Hall hero was Shane Barrett, as he came up with two big goals in the 107th and 113th minutes of extra time to ensure their passage into the next round of the competition, 2-0.

Leeds made their trip over the county bounds a fruitful one when they locked horns with Killarney Celtic at Celtic Park also on Saturday afternoon. The home side led 1-0 with a goal just before halftime.

However, in the dying minute, Leeds levelled with a spectacular long-range free kick by Cillian O’Callaghan to take the cup tie to extra time.

Killarney restored their lead 2-1 in the 96th minute, but Johnny Chen stuck the back of the net for Leeds in the second half of extra time to level the game again and it went to penalties.

Leeds' Adam Patterson, Aaron Crowley, Josh Constant and O’Callaghan all converted their spot kicks and keeper Jack Clancy came up with two big saves that saw the Northside club into the hat for the next round.
