The latest figures from the Irish Midwives and Nurses Association (INMO) show there is 571 people waiting for beds in hospitals on Wednesday.

407 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 164 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

The hospital with the highest amount of people waiting for a bed is University Hospital Limerick, with 88 people.

41 patients are in the emergency department, with 47 people elsewhere in the hospital.

Cork University Hospital has 76 people without a bed, with 60 patients in the emergency department.

At University Hospital Galway, there is 61 people waiting for a bed, with 47 people in the emergency department.
