Customers on the Macroom Public Water Supply can use their water as normal again after nearly eight weeks

Irish Water and Cork County Council have issued a boil water notice with immediate effect for consumers supplied by the Macroom Public Water Supply

HUNDREDS of people are expected at the funeral of Macroom shooting victim Derry Coakley on Sunday. The 59-year-old will lie in repose in St Colman's Church in the town tomorrow evening from 5pm, with prayers at 7pm.

A POST mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow on the man shot outside Macroom, as gardaí continued to interview a suspect about the killing.

A man has been arrested in Macroom in connection with the shooting of a man near the town last night. The man in his 60s is currently detained at Bandon Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

A WOMAN in her 40s remains in custody today following the fatal stabbing of 44-year-old Timmy Foley in Macroom in the early hours of Monday morning. Gardaí were called to a house in the area at 1. 50am, where they discovered Mr Foley with stab wounds.

The 44-year-old who was fatally stabbed overnight has been named locally as Timmy Foley.  A murder investigation is underway in Macroom after Gardaí were called to Dan Corkery Place at 1. 50am this morning.
