Brendan Wall died while taking part in the rescheduled Ironman event in Youghal, Co Cork last Sunday.

Triathlon Ireland has said it did not sanction the Ironman event in Youghal, Co Cork, but a dispute has emerged over when this occurred.

In a statement the local authority said that Ironman is the owner of the event and has "sole responsibility" for the management and co-ordination of same.
