Construction of a new broadband network is currently under way in the Carriganimmy deployment area, which covers Macroom, Kilberrihert, Slievereagh, and surrounding rural townlands.

National Broadband Ireland said construction works are underway to connect 3,856 homes, farms and businesses in the Fermoy area to high speed fibre internet. 

High-speed fibre connections are now available to over 180,000 premises across the country, with the NBI saying it is currently working ahead of its rollout plan

Under the National Broadband Plan, Cork county will see an investment of €314m in the new high speed fibre network.

The company delivering the National Broadband Plan (NBP) on behalf of the Government, will host a pop-up information event in Cork this weekend to allow the public to learn more about high-speed fibre broadband.
