To mark the launch of the programme for this Cork Midsummer Festival 2025, Festival Director Lorraine Maye and Eileen Walsh took inspiration from an Australian production in this year's festival, Burnout Paradise, which features the cast on treadmills. As part of the exciting line up Eileen Walsh performed he 24 theatrical marathon in CMF 2025 - The Second Woman. Lien as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival, Cork Opera House, multiple performances from 12pm to 8pm; On an otherwise empty stage, one dancer and one audience member meet for a singular ten-minute encounter. Tickets €8.

Burnout Paradise as part of Cork Midsummer Festival, Firkin Crane, 4pm; Four performers. Four treadmills. One relentless, spiralling challenge. What starts as a playful contest soon unravels into a desperate, high-stakes game. Tickets €22.

The Black Wolfe Tone, Cork Arts Theatre, 8pm; The Black Wolfe Tone is a fast-paced and urgent new play about identity, masculinity, and the unspoken battles fought within. Following its premiere in New York, the play comes to Ireland on tour to bring its raw intensity and emotional depth to audiences nationwide. Tickets €26.

Camille O’Sullivan: Cork Girl!, The Everyman, 8:30pm; On the evening of the summer solstice, Camille O’Sullivan’s presents a brand-new show specially created for Cork Midsummer Festival – celebrating her hometown and its music through a mix of beloved favourites and new gems. Tickets €36.50.

Library Trad Music Group, Rory Gallagher Library, 3:30pm; Join in on or just sit back an enjoy the weekly trad sessions at Cork City Library. Free admission.

Dublin City Ramblers, Quays Bar Fermoy, 8pm; The name the Dublin City Ramblers is legendary in Irish music, they have blazed a trail in folk music for over 50 years with their unique style and unmistakable delivery of Irish music. Tickets €15.

Roy Buckley, Canty’s Bar, 6pm; Roy Buckley is a singer, songwriter, musician, recording artist, owner of The Song Collector Sessions. Free admission.

Carrigaline Summer Festival Concert, Carrigaline Court Health & Leisure Centre, 8pm; Get ready for a night of music and fun at the Carrigaline Summer Festival Concert, which will feature The Frank & Walters, Danny & the Aos Dána and Crosshaven Community Choir. Tickets €35.

The White Horse Guitar Club, The White Horse 8:30pm; The White Horse Guitar Club has become a celebrated force in Ireland’s music scene and beyond. Born in Ballincollig, out of an open call by Joe Carey at The White Horse pub, this eleven-man band has grown from a casual gathering into one of Ireland’s most exciting musical acts.

Kiss Nights, The Pav, 11pm; Get into the groove with Kiss Nights with Frank Jez and DJ Mystic Gold at The Pavilion — a celebration of rhythm, soul, and good energy with the best in funk, afrobeats, soul, and more. Free admission.

Sunday 

Stuart Wilde and The Birdmen, Crane Lane, 11:30pm; The Birdmen are a four-piece band playing everything from Bob Dylan to The Beastie Boys including blues, folk, rock and hip hop. Free admission.

International Yoga Day, Douglas Library, 11:30am; Celebrate International Yoga Day with a gentle yoga flow session followed by a guided meditation. Make sure to bring your own yoga mat. Free admission.

Scent Filled Summer Aromatherapy and Wellness Workshop, Here’s Health, 11am; Relax and take your ease while making your own aromatherapy products that you can take home. Tickets €45.

Rebel Aghada Tour, Aghada Church, 12pm; This tour is based on bestselling book Rebel Aghada 1798 - 1923: the Untold History of an East Cork Parish' and plans to take in all of the nine villages of Aghada, plus Heartbreak Hill, East Ferry, Fort Davis, Roche's Point, Ballybrannigan, Inch Bay and more. Tickets €25.

Ricardo in Cork Zumba, Midleton GAA, 5pm; Ricardo's Zumba masterclass promises not only to boost your fitness but also to fill the room with fun and entertainment. Ticket €25.

Sunday

Stretch and Steps, Kennedy Park, 10:30am; A morning hosted by yoga teacher, Lauren and Edel from Bestie walking club. Meet at Kennedy Park for an early morning outdoor yoga session, followed by a 5km walk. Free admission.
