Saturday

  • 10x10 Minute Play Event, Cork Arts Theatre, 8pm: The annual 10 x 10 Minute Play Event is back with ten brand new short plays for you to enjoy. The event is an important fund-raiser for the Cork Arts Theatre and will have ten mini-plays each evening with something to suit all tastes. Audiences get to vote for their favourite. Tickets €15.
  • The Improv Panto, Cork Opera House, 10.30pm: An uproarious, completely unscripted performance where YOU, the audience, get to choose the story and who plays what character. Tickets €25.

Sunday

  • Fun Size, Cork Arts Theatre, 12.30pm: Senior students perform scenes of comedy, tragedy and all that lies between. A lunchtime delight. Tickets €12.
  • Hansel & Gretel And The Enchanted Forest, Cork Firkin Crane, 2.30pm: Produced and directed by Sinead Murphy, join Hansel and Gretel on an adventure in an enchanted forest. Tickets €25.

  • Lord Mayor’s Gala Christmas Concert, Cork City Hall, 8pm: Heart-warming annual evening of festivity now in its 62nd year. Tickets from €15.
  • Mary Coughlan Live, Sea Church, 9.30pm: Irish music legend Mary Coughlan provides an unforgettable evening of soulful, jazz-infused music. Tickets €30.

Sunday

  • Sunday Songbook - The Ultimate Christmas Show, The Everyman, 7.30pm: The team serve up a feast of greatest Christmas songs, along with heaps of festive fun and frolics. Tickets €31.

  • Reggie For President, Bandon GAA Pavilion, 8pm: Reggie from the Blackrock Road reaches out to the ordinary people of the Bandon community “without touching them, unless they are absolutely gorgeous”. Tickets €25.

Sunday

  • Focus Ireland and Irish Rail’s Santa Train, Cork Kent, 10.30am: This magical train journey will see passengers share a carriage with Santa Claus himself as you journey from Kent Station to Charleville and back. Get your present and get a photo with jolly St Nick. Tickets €11.70.
  • The Brunch Club - Après Ski Edition, The Anglers, 1pm: This month’s brunch is promised to be a fun-filled gathering with delicious seasonal cocktails, food, and great company, with beats provided by Stevie G. Tickets €45.

  • Jamie Cooks Christmas, Channel 4, 8pm: The first of two festive specials, as chef Jamie Oliver provides tips and recipes for the Christmas menu.

Streaming

  • Black Doves, Netflix: Thriller series starring Keira Knightley, Sarah Lancashire and Ben Whishaw. Helen, a seemingly happily married wife and mother, actually works as a secret spy.
  • The Sticky, Prime: Six-part series inspired by a true story, as 80% of the world’s maple syrup supply is stolen from a storage facility in Quebec.
