Going into the Glen Rovers and St Finbarr’s Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship final, Patrick Horgan needed exactly 11 points to take the overall Premier Senior top scorer award from Brian O’Sullivan, and that’s exactly what he did.
Horgan ended with an overall tally of 1-57, one point better than the 2-53 of the Kanturk man, who had led the chart for virtually the entire campaign.
St Finbarr’s forward Ben Cunningham finished third overall on 2-39, four points clear of Douglas’s Shane Kingston in fourth on 1-38. Fr O’Neill’s Declan Dalton finished fifth highest overall with 1-30.
Horgan wasn’t the only Glen man to produce a late jump to the top of the table; Eoin O’Leary’s 2-2 in the decider meant he leapt ahead of both Colin Walsh and William Buckley to finish as the top scorer from play.

Buckley finished three points adrift of O’Leary, while Walsh was two points back in third. Cunningham and Horgan tied for fourth place in the from-play table.
The champions lead the way at Senior A too, as Conor Lenihan ended the season for Erin’s Own with 2-37, four points better than Fermoy’s Fionn Lardner and Carrigtwohill’s James Mulcahy, who are tied for second. Ballinhassig’s Ger Collins and Blarney’s Shane Barrett tied for fourth.

Adam Murphy held onto first place in the Senior A from-play table having scored 2-17, and with Seán Desmond in second with 3-13, the top two spots go to Watergrasshill. Mulcahy finished third with 1-18, ahead of Lenihan and Patrick Walsh, who tied for fourth.
Ballincollig’s Stephen Wills got the six points needed to jump ahead of Carrigaline’s Brian Kelleher and end the season as the Premier Intermediate top scorer, while Jack Leahy managed to push into the top three after the final. Aghabullogue’s Shane Tarrant and Valley Rovers’ Chris O’Leary round out the top five in the overall scoring.
In the from-play table, Cillian O’Callaghan’s 8-9 surpassed everyone else’s tallies, with teammate Leahy in second having scored 0-25. Aghabullogue men Tarrant and James Lane finished third and fourth.
