Cork City FC have confirmed the signing of Scottish midfielder Archie Meekison ahead of the 2027 season.

The 24-year-old began his career with Dundee United, joining the club's academy at the age of six, before signing his first professional contract in 2019.

He made his senior debut for the Scottish side in April 2021, and also had spells with Cove Rangers, Spartans and Falkirk.

The midfielder moved to Ireland in 2024, joining Bohemians in the July window before spending the 2026 season at Sligo Rovers.

With 13 goal involvements in his 56 Premier Division appearances so far, he becomes Barry Robson’s first new signing of the off-season.

Speaking after signing for City, Meekison said he was thrilled to have signed for City.

“It’s a great privilege to sign for Cork City. I got really excited when I spoke to the manager and he told me the type of football that he wants to play next season," Meekison said.

“Cork City is a massive club. I can already feel the buzz around the place, and I’m really excited to be here.”

City manager Barry Robson welcomed his new addition, saying he was a player he was looking at for some time.

“I’m happy to get Archie signed up. He’s someone that we have been watching for a while and we identified him as a player that would fit in our plans for next season," Robson said.

"He’s still a young player, but he’s got a few years of experience at Premier Division level and he brings the type of quality that we’ve been looking for.

"Physically, he’s a quick player, and technically fits in with our style.”
