Wilton advanced with a compensative victory against Buttevant in the FAI U17 Cup at Pat Bowdren Park.

There was plenty of excitement and some shocks across the Daly Industrial Supplies Cork Youth Leagues on Saturday.

However, the FAI U17 Cup took centre stage with Wilton United, Douglas Hall and Carrigtwohill United all advancing to the next round of the competition.

Wilton United proved far too strong for U17 League 1A side Buttevant at Pat Bowdren Park when they ran out 11-0 victors.

The City side led 4-0 at half-time with efforts coming from Kyle Murphy, Jack Hayes, Noah O’Callaghan and an own goal by the unfortunate Buttevant’s Callum O’Keeffe. Wilton ran riot in the second half when Murphy and Hayes completed their hat-tricks and their other goal scorers were Muhammad Munir, Evan Noel and Shane O’Brien.

Douglas Hall travelled to Knockgriffin Park to take on Midleton and came from behind to win 7-1.

Pablo Sanz gave the Magpies an early 1-0 lead in the 15th minute. However, Harry Tett and Zack Doyle had the Hall leading 2-1 at halftime.

The Hall dominated the second half and Josh Carey, Colm Tynan, Rian O’Sullivan, Joshua Dunne and Rian Scarles all getting on the scoresheet to give them a very comfortable victory.

In the other game in the competition, Carrigtwohill United traveled to Carrig Park to play Fermoy and came away with a fine 6-3 victory.

Carrigtwohill raced into a 2-0 lead with goals from Alameem Adeyinka and Aaron Power. Fermoy reduced the deficit 2-1 with a fine effort from Julius Ensko just before the halftime break.

Power gave Carrigtwohill back their two-goal cushion three minutes from the restart, a penalty from Gerald Kinczewski-Murphy had Fermoy trailing 3-2 five minutes later. Owen Aghedo, Power, to complete his hat-trick, and Nathan Joseph all scored for the East Cork side to lead 6-2. Fermoy did pull a late goal back through Brandon Slattery but Carrigtwohill had too much firepower.

Elsewhere in the U19 League, Carrigaline United made sure they stayed on top of the table with a 7-3 victory over Leeds at Leeds Park.

Carrigaline led 3-0 at halftime with goals from Daniel O’Mahony, Danny McSorley and Alex O’Connell. Carrigaline added goals from Sean O’Neill, Cillian Murphy, Matthew O’Connor and O’Mahony in the second half while Caelan McCarthy and a brace from Zac Lynch-Healy got on the scoresheet for Leeds.

It was a good weekend for both Avondale United U19 sides with Ken Bruton’s side travelling to Whitegate and came away with a 2-0 victory with Rob Sheehan and Sean McNamee netting for them.

The other Avondale welcomed Mogeely to Avondale Park and had a handsome 5-1 victory. The home side ran riot in the first half and led 5-0 at halftime with their goals coming from Sean O’Connor, Peter Collins and a hat-trick from Rory O’Neill. The East Cork side pulled a goal back through Thomas Casey. However, the damage was done in the first half.

There was a thriller in the Landing Field where the hosts Ballincollig scored a late goal to draw 3-3 with Midleton.

Fionn Wenham put the Magpies two goals to the good in the opening half hour, before Jack O’Sullivan pulled a goal back for the Village in the 35th minute.

Wenham completed his hat-trick on the hour mark for Midleton to lead 3-1. However, another goal from Ballincollig’s O’Sullivan and a Jack O’Connell effort made sure that both sides had to settle for a draw.

Ringmahon Rangers moved top of the U17 League 4 table after they beat Park United by three goals to two at Ringmahon Park.

Ringmahon went 1-0 in front when Alex McLaughlin scored from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute, but a fine effort by Tony Murphy levelled in the 36th minute. Evan O’Riordan restored the Ringer’s advantage 2-1 in the 69th minute, but Park’s Darragh Condon had the level 2-2 two minutes later. However, a late McLoughlin effort gave the home side all three points.
