Blarney Woollen Mills has marked a new chapter in its long-standing partnership with Blarney GAA.

Blarney Woollen Mills has marked a new chapter in its long-standing partnership with Blarney GAA, expanding its jersey sponsorship to include Blarney Camogie and bringing the entire club community together under one shared sponsorship.

The partnership will continue to support the club’s men’s teams while now extending to its female players, reflecting the continued growth of Blarney GAA and Blarney Camogie as one united club community since coming together in 2021.

On Thursday, 24 September, Freda Hayes, CEO of Blarney Woollen Mills, welcomed club representatives, players, volunteers, supporters and members of the local community to Blarney Woollen Mills for the official unveiling of the new jerseys.

The event celebrated more than the launch of a new kit. It recognised the strong ties between Blarney Woollen Mills, Blarney GAA and Blarney Camogie, and the shared community spirit that has connected them for generations.

For Blarney Woollen Mills, extending the sponsorship to include Camogie represents an important commitment to supporting the entire club community and ensuring all players are represented within the partnership.

The connection between Blarney Woollen Mills and Blarney GAA stretches back many decades. Founder Christy Kelleher was a proud Blarney man, a former player and past Chairman of the club. His dedication to both the club and the wider community remains a lasting part of the relationship today.

Discussions on the next phase of the sponsorship began in March 2026, when club representatives and Blarney Woollen Mills met to plan the future partnership and develop the design of the new jerseys unveiled at the event.

Speaking at the launch, Freda Hayes said the presence of the Blarney Woollen Mills name on the jerseys “means much more than sponsorship,” describing it as a long-standing connection between the family, the club and the wider community.

She said the company is proud to continue supporting the men’s teams and delighted to welcome Blarney Camogie into the partnership as the club celebrates “one community and one club.”

The evening also recognised the volunteers, coaches, families, players and supporters whose dedication continues to strengthen the club and its community spirit from one generation to the next.
