Kanturk 3-15 Bishopstown 2-14 

Kanturk took the McCarthy Insurances Division 3 Football League title at Glantane on Friday evening. 

Conor Dunne opened with a first-minute free for Bishopstown and Kanturk were quick to edge ahead. Grantis Buckinskas and Colin Walsh worked well for Ian Walsh, who landed a two-pointer. 

On top in midfield and the half-forward sector, the Duhallow side opened up a lead 0-7 to 0-1 after 11 minutes. 

Dunne and Harry Wixted worked well for Garry Holland who kicked over and further scores from Kevin Murphy, Holland and Jack Murphy had the lead down to two after 17 minutes. Kanturk had their first goal when Lorcan O'Neill and Buckinskas set up with Ian Walsh, who passed back to Buckinskas to net from close range: 1-7 to 0-5. 

Kanturk were reduced to 14 players for a black card offence. The city side did well having a goal by Colum Daly after 26 minutes to trim the gap to one. 

Kanturk keeper Ronan Cashman kicked a 45. In the closing moments, Grantis Buckinskas kicked a two-point free. Impressive Kieran McFadden pointed for the Seandun side, who trailed at the break 1-10 to 1-7.

On the resumption, Kanturk had two early points. Wixted kept the city side in touch.

Colin Walsh landed a fine point for Kanturk. In the 41st minute, Liam O'Keeffe goaled after good play by Paul Walsh. 

Town battled to the end, Holland had two points and followed with a goal after good play by Mark Scally. Entering the final quarter, Paul Walsh and Daniel O'Connell worked well for O'Keeffe, who had his second goal. Cian Clernon followed with a very good point. 

In the closing moments, Bishopstown laid siege on the Kanturk defence. Very solid play by John McLoughlin, Lorcan O'Neill and Tommy Walsh denied the City side on a few occasions. 

Foley had a point with Holland, with a two-pointer, cutting the lead 3-14 to 2-14. Daniel O'Connell had a good point after good play by Colin Walsh and O'Keeffe. 

Time ran out and Kanturk who took the title but both sides will be promoted. 

Francis Kenneally presented the Jerry Keating Memorial Cup to the winning captain Mark Healy. Liam O'Keeffe was Man of the Match.
