With six rounds completed in the RedFM Division 1 Hurling League and only three left to play, Seán Walsh has extended his lead over Ben Cunningham on the scoring front, to lead the Barrs forward by 13.

Cunningham didn’t feature in St Finbarr’s defeat to Fr O’Neill’s, while Walsh contributed 0-9 (0-4 frees) in Carrigtwohill’s six-point defeat to Sarsfields last weekend.

His total now stands at 4-56 from six games, while nearest challenger Cunningham remains second with 1-52. Third-placed Kevin O’Sullivan featured in the Fr O’Neill’s win over the Barrs but with Dalton available, he wasn’t on placed ball duties and failed to score.

O’Sullivan’s 0-54 to date ensures he remains well clear of fourth-placed Robbie Cotter, with the Blackrock forward absent in their defeat to Midleton, as Mikey Finn scored 0-9 to close the gap, leaving him fifth in the overall charts with 0-37 so far.

Former Cork star Patrick Horgan moved from eighth to sixth in the charts with a respectable 1-9 in the Glen’s win over Douglas, increasing his tally to 3-27 and jumping Mark O’Brien and Daniel Hogan in the process.

Tied for ninth place are Charleville’s David Forde and Sarsfields’ Jack O’Connor, the latter getting all of his 2-22 so far in this year’s league campaign from play.

However, despite such an impressive from-play haul from O’Connor, Walsh remains atop that table, too. He’s scored 3-28 from play. 12 more scores would see him surpass his 2-43 from-play total in last year’s league.

O’Connor has climbed from fourth to second after last weekend, though. His 2-22 is enough to edge out O’Brien’s 2-19, while Cunningham remains a touch further back with 1-19 from play.

Jack Cahalane and Cotter remain fifth and sixth respectively, while Charleville’s Tim Hawe moves up to seventh after nailing 1-1 in their hammering of Killeagh at the weekend.

There’s a three-way tie for eighth, Patrick Horgan’s 3-8 leaving him level with clubmate Dean Brosnan (1-14) and Seán Walsh’s brother Patrick (1-14).
