Brian O'Sullivan leads the way in PSHC scoring charts while Shane Kingston climbs to second

On a weekend of hurling action where Kanturk’s dominant win over Blackrock was the talk of the round, it is fitting that talisman Brian O’Sullivan extended his lead atop the Premier Senior scoring charts, his 1-12 haul increasing his lead on second place to eight points.

His nearest challenger at the moment is Douglas’s Shane Kingston, who climbed from fourth to second after scoring 1-10 against Sarsfields, while Newtown’s Jamie Coughlan remains third following 0-11 in their derby win over Charleville.

Blackrock’s Robbie Cotter remains the PSHC top-scorer from play having notched 1-2 against Kanturk, while Eoin O’Leary remains second after putting up the same haul against Fr O’Neill’s, though Imokilly’s Jack Leahy is now tied with him after getting 0-3 from play in their Divisions/Colleges section final win over Seandún.

Leahy’s form for club and division puts him in the top five of four different charts, the PSHC and PIHC’s overall and from-play tables.

The current overall leader in the Premier Intermediate grade remains unchanged, with Ballincollig’s Stephen Wills heading the table with 1-32, while Shane Tarrant’s 3-24 preserves his place in second. Carrigaline’s Brian Kelleher has climbed to third with 2-23, leaving him four points behind Tarrant.

Tarrant is the current top-scorer from play still, though his lead over second place now sits at just one after Cillian O’Callaghan bagged a hat-trick against Castlemartyr. The Dungourney forward sits second with 5-4, while teammate Leahy is third with 0-16 from play.

At Senior A, Fionn Lardner and Shane Barrett are the joint-leaders in the overall scoring with 2-24 and 0-30 respectively. Both have the opportunity to further their tallies, though Lardner’s will come through the unwanted relegation decider against Ballyhea.

Castlelyons’ Alan Fenton and Erin’s Own’s Conor Lenihan are tied for third.

In the from-play scoring, Watergrasshill’s Adam Murphy heads the chart with 2-13, while James Mulcahy of Carrigtwohill and Lenihan are second and third respectively.
