A huge crowd gathered at the Rochestown Park Hotel recently as St Finbarr’s celebrated a season to remember in 2025.

A joint social took place to look back on the Barrs winning the McCarthy Insurance Group Premier SFC while the camogie team made it back-to-back SE Systems Senior titles as well as winning the Munster trophy.

St Finbarr’s couldn’t have wished for a better way to win the Andy Scannell trophy for the first time since 2021 after edging out local rivals Nemo Rangers in the decider at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh by a point thanks to a late Cillian Myers-Murray point.

The camogie outfit had six points to spare over St Catherine's after a tough county final at MTU Cork.

The Barrs were made to fight hard for it by a St Catherine's team who turned in a magnificent display. They pinned the favourites in and narrowed the gap to just one point, but the Blues rallied and wore them down in the fourth quarter.

They won the Munster final after a 3-11 to 2-12 victory over De La Salle.

Trevor Walsh was the Masters of Ceremonies at the splendid Rochestown Park Hotel and kept the night flowing in a very professional and witty manner.

There were representatives from the Cork County Board and the City Divisional Board.

Tributes were paid to the commitment shown by the squads throughout a demanding campaign.

A recurring theme of the night was the shared identity that binds the club’s teams. Speakers emphasised how success in one code lifts the others, creating a culture where standards are high and support is mutual.

As the night drew to a close, attention naturally turned to the season ahead. With the teams eager to build on their progress, the social served as both a celebration and a statement of intent.

St Finbarr’s continues to thrive not only through talent on the pitch but through the strong community spirit that nights like this so clearly showcase.
