JAY BAZZ BARBERS made it through to the knockout stages of the Grandon’s Toyota Shield following their Group D must win tie with Here’s Health at Mayfield Park last Sunday afternoon,.
Despite going behind to early goals Sean Holmes and Ken O’Brien, goals from Jordan Cambridge, James McCarthy and Alex O’Sullivan had turned the tie in the Barbers’s favour by the 55th minute.
An equalizer from Eoin Hayes ten minutes later made for a tense finish which looked to be going to penalties until Eoghan O’Sullivan slotted home a 90th minute winner.

A win was a must for The Weigh Inn in their attempts to make it through to the knockout stages at The Regional Park last Sunday morning.
After Saif Al Mandhari picked out Jamie Torpey for the lead for Dripsey in the 28th minute, Carlos Da Conceicao equalized with eleven minutes remaining.
The hosts poured forward in search of a winner and were duly rewarded when sub Colm O’Driscoll fired home from close range.

Two teams who already made it through to the knockout stages met at Mayfield Park last Friday night to decide who would top the group.
An understrength Celtic found two down inside the first seven minutes when a high defensive line left goalkeeper Jamie O’Sullivan cruelly exposed, allowing David Marijuan and Juan De Villa to run through unmarked and score with ease.
After Christopher Bowen set up Aaron West to reduce the deficit in the 21st minute, Gabriel Peña Da Silva restored Helio’s two goal advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Reigning champions got off to the best possible start in their defence of the title with an impressive win over promoted The LAB at Mayfield Park. Tony O’Reilly and Aaron Hennessy grabbed a brace apiece, one in each half, along with Liam Horgan, Shaun Teegan and Scott Lawlor for Denis O’Sullivan’s and Wayne Kavanagh’s six time league winners.
Rhys Olotu had earlier reduced the deficit to 4-1 in the 64th minute.

Cork Hospitals went three up courtesy of Padraig Smith, Richard Bambury and Matt Tiffany before DoMA replied with a Gabriel Do Nascimento Wesley double.
An own goal gave the visitor’s a mountain which they could not climb in the remaining time.

Last season’s second division champions OBS came unstuck against Abbey Business at Corinthians Park last Saturday afternoon.
John McLoughlin set up John McCleverty for the opener in the 15th minute before adding a second himself nine minutes later from the penalty spot.
The visitors pressed hard to get back into the contest but McLoughlin again and Liam Daly scored late on for the hosts.

Debutants Carrigaline Celtic won their first match of the season when they took on the returning Tigers at Camden in the early morning kick-off last Saturday.
First-half goals from Darragh Murphy and Eoin Flynn were followed by five in the second half from Murphy (3),Tom Flynn and Kieran Murphy.
The hard working had a hand in setting up four of the goals.

Council made a winning start to life back in the bottom tier following last season’s disappointing relegation. Michael Jennings got in for the first in the 10th minute before the Emeka Mbudinma’s pace unnerved the visitor’s back-four as he pounced to net twice inside four early second-half minutes.
Cian Power rounded off the scoring with a fourth in the 74th minute. Cian O’Connor did manage to pull one back for ASH in the 90th minute.

DCT shared eight goals against new commers AI FC at Camden, coming out on top 5-3 on the day.
The hosts led two -nil by the 35th minute through Robbie Burke and Luke O’Sullivan before AI ’s Willa Karuru and DCT’s Sean Buckley still had time to score before the conclusion of the half.
On the turnover, three goals inside a seven minute spell, two for AI’S Promise Okafor and Joshua Ibrahim and one for Steven McCarthy kept the scoreboard ticking over.
With the teams level, Luke Birmingham came off the bench to secure the points for Munsters with goals in the 78th and 91st minutes respectfully.
