HOLDERS Grangevale topped the Grandon’s Toyota Shield – Group D group to advance to the last sixteen after their impressive 7-3 win over Jay Bazz at Mayfield Park last Sunday morning in the popular You Tube match of the week.
In an explosive start, Barbers’ Damien O’Mahony and Vale’s Corey Harris exchanged goals inside the opening six minutes before Eoghan O’Sullivan’s free-kick deceived Robert Osborne to put the visitors ahead for the second time five minutes later.
However, the hosts turned the tie around before half-time with goals from Billy Tabb and Niall Kennedy, his first for his club.
The Vale went on to dominate the second 45 and add further goals from Tabb and Harris before James Fleming headed a third for the visitors in the 73rd minute.
Man-of-the-match Tabb went on to complete his hat-trick with eight minutes remaining with another clinical finish with centre-back Ben Jenkins heading the final goal in the 86th minute.

The LAB topped the group by virtue of their impressive four-nil win over unbeaten OBS in the late Saturday evening kick-off at Mayfield Park. Matthew Ekhosuehi’s 17th minute goal separated the teams at half-time.
Quick fire strikes from Collins MaLakwen and Diego Soeiro Lopes early in the second-half ended the tie as a contest before Ekhosuehi added a fourth with eighteen minutes remaining.

Despite going behind to a 13th minute Dylan Long goal for ASH, Cork Hospitals went in 3-1 ahead at half-time courtesy of Wymin Sivakumar (2) and Valerio DeSimone.
A second-half seven goal blitz yielded further goals from Tadgh Whelan (3), Sivakumar (2), Dara Flangan and Eoin Kennedy to seal a comprehensive first win in the group for the hosts.

After losing by the same score the week before, Abbey needed a win to stay in the competition. In windy conditions at Corinthians Park, the hosts took the tie to their premier opponents and were rewarded with what would prove to be the match winner on the quarter hour when Stephen O’Donovan fired past Dean Cummins.

DoMA Brazil came from 2-1 down to goals from Aaron Cooney (2) to pull level in added time through Raefael Barreiro after Gabriel Do Nascimento had earlier cancelled out Cooney’s opener.
However, Harvey’s prevailed in the shoot-out to go through to the last sixteen at the expense of their opponents.

Five time winners Doolan’s Cow wrapped up top spot in the group after goals from Tony O’Reilly and James O’Donovan, two apiece, and one each from James Cotter and David O’Sullivan put a game Carrigaline Celtic to the sword at Rockenham.
The debutant visitors have had a tough start but after Dylan Power reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 36th minute, Celtic continued to press and have shown plenty of ambition to make their mark in the league in the weeks ahead.

Pfizer were good value for their win at The Regional Park against an understrength Council who were already out of contention.
A brace from Patrick Clifford in the first 45 was followed by another two from Darragh O’Halloran and Clifford again in added time.
The evergreen John Hayes, at the ripe old age of fifty nine and in his 39th year of playing in the league, filled in at centre-back for the hosts.

Twice winners Marlboro got their campaign off to a winning start with a best of seven goal encounter at Gortnalough Community Park.
After Daniel Jaouhari and Kaleb Maguire Sheerin, with his first for the club, put Trust two up in the first half hour, goals from Cian Doyle and John Noonan levelled the tie by the 41st minute only for Luciano Carlos Da Conceicao to put the hosts ahead at the break.
Da Conceicao put two between the teams again in the first minute of the second-half before Doyle complete the scoring when he struck his second of the day with ten minutes remaining.
