Cork City are on the road this evening, travelling to Dalymount Park to face second-placed Bohemians at 7.45pm as League of Ireland Premier Division action resumes.
City are still yet to pick up an away win in the league this season, a record that needs to end tonight if they’re to have any chance at remaining in the top flight for the 2026 season
Ger Nash’s side do, however, arrive with some momentum. Their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Waterford in the FAI Cup last time out built on a run of two clean sheets and four points from their previous league outings. Against a Bohs side struggling for form, they will fancy their chances.
While Alan Reynolds’ men have more than quadruple City’s league wins this season, their recent run has been poor. They have collected just six points from their last five games and now sit 10 points adrift of leaders Shamrock Rovers.
Bohs were beaten 1-0 by Sligo Rovers in the FAI Cup last weekend, a fourth game without a win in all competitions. With the exception of their 7-0 hammering of Killester United in the Cup’s second round, their last win was against Galway on July 11, as James Clarke netted a brace following Douglas James-Tyler’s opening goal to give Bohs a 3-0 win.
The teams have met three times in the league so far this season; Cork City edged the first meeting back in February at Turner’s Cross after Seani Maguire pulled one back for the hosts after Keith Buckley’s opening goal, before Ruairi Keating added a second late on to ensure victory.
An 85 minute strike from James McManus was the difference at Dalymount Park back in April, while the last meeting on Leeside ended in a disappointing 2-0 defeat for Cork City.

Ahead of the trip to Dalymount, Ger Nash spoke of the importance that tonight’s game holds, and the importance of carrying their recent form with them.
“We've got a huge game next Friday night against Bohs,” he said. “The group are doing everything they can week to week, day to day. I cannot fault them, and the staff are working brilliantly.
“We've been doing this for a number of weeks. We're getting a rewards at the moment, but look, we've got a huge game next Friday, a very tough game and we know we need to work hard again and be better.” City’s injury list remains lengthy, but there are signs of improvement. Goalkeeper David Odumosu returned to the bench against Waterford, though Alex Nolan was unavailable and Harry Nevin was forced off injured in the second half.

Manager Ger Nash offered little detail when discussing the two injured players – saying Nevin went off “with something we’ll have to assess” and that Nolan had been playing through an injury, and needed the rest. It’s likely he’ll be out for at least another couple of weeks.
They join long-term absentees Cathal O’Sullivan and Ruairi Keating, while the short term list now includes Fiacre Kelleher, Greg Bolger, Seán Murray and Charlie Lyons.
