The Cork club hurling championships are back underway this weekend, and with all Premier Senior clubs getting a second game under their belt there will certainly be major changes to the scoring charts, but who are the early leaders across the top three grades at this stage?

In the PSHC, Avondhu’s Stephen Condon leads the way quite comfortably, having hit 1-18 from play across the divisional side’s opening three games, including five points from play in their defeat to Imokilly, where he stood out.

After victory over UCC on Sunday evening, Muskerry’s Matthew Bradley occupies second spot in the charts, with 2-11 from play accumulated over the course of their three games so far.

Avondhu’s Colin O’Brien isn’t far behind the pair in third with 0-12 from play, while we’ve got a four-way from fourth to seventh, two from Avondhu and two from Muskerry having all scored 2-2 each.

Johnnie Murphy and Liam Óg Hegarty representing Avondhu, David Casey and James Foley for Muskerry.

After an excellent performance against UCC, Cork footballer Colm O’Callaghan jumped up to eighth, now that’s got 1-4.

St Finbarr’s William Buckley is the only club rep on the PSHC list, his 0-7 from play against Douglas leaving him tied with O’Callaghan and Luke Keating of Avondhu.

In the Senior A HC, Watergrasshill’s Seán Desmond picked up where he left off in their All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship victory over Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry, putting 2-3 past Courcey Rovers in the Hill’s opening round win.

Carrigtwohill’s James Mulcahy is a point behind after his 2-2 from play v Fermoy, while Bride Rovers’ Brian Roche is a further point back in third after 0-7 in their win against Blarney.

Killeagh’s Ryan McCarthy is fourth with 1-3 from their monstrous battle with Na Piarsaigh, while Mark Coleman is tied fifth after notching 1-2 from play, with Daire Connery joining him after scoring 0-5 against Killeagh.

Patrick Walsh, Seán Long, Ross O’Sullivan and Anthony Spillane are four of a long list of players who scored 0-4 from play in the opening weekend.

The PIHC saw the smallest from play tallies, Evan Cullinane’s 2-1 for Ballinhassig and Jack Leahy’s 0-7 from Dungourney leaving them as joint table-toppers.

Behind them there’s a four-way tie for third, Carrigaline’s Rhys McCarthy, Lisgoold’s James O’Driscoll, Valley Rovers’ Rory O’Sullivan, and Dungourney’s James Ahern all scored 1-3 on opening weekend.

Mallow’s Pa Herlihy put five over the bar from play in their defeat to Dungourney and takes seventh spot, while again, like Senior A – there’s a long list of players tied on 0-4 each.

Éanna Desmond (Carrigaline), Diarmuid Byrne (Cloyne) and Eoin Carey (Kilworth) are the three to make the table, though it will likely be a very different chart come next Monday.
