Ringmahon picked up every cup on offer in Cork and reached the Intermediate Cup final
Celebrations for Ringmahon Rangers after 10-trophy haul

Ringmahon Rangers senior manager Aidan Foley and treasurer Sean Fitzgerald present the John Langton Fitzgerald Senior Player of the Year to Ethon Varian.

As adult football came to a close for this season, Ringmahon celebrated a hugely successful campaign at their awards night which was recently held at the RedCove Inn.

A total of 10 trophies were won by the adult section of the club, a remarkable achievement said treasurer Sean Fitzgerald.

"This would not be possible without the dedication of our players and management,” said Fitzgerald. "We held our annual awards at the weekend in the Red Cove Inn, an establishment that has always been so supportive to the club. We had a massive turnout from all teams who celebrated winning a remarkable 10 trophies together.

We would like to say a special mention to Ray O’Mahony from the Red Cove who again gave us so much great hospitality and also to John Naughton of IIS Insulation for his sponsorship towards our senior team."

While two of the top trophies did not make their way to Ringmahon Park this season, the league and Intermediate Cup, both disappointing as they certainly were on manager Aidan Foley's radar, landing all the domestic cups was some consolation for this talented side.

The Donie Forde Cup, Keane Cup, O'Connell Cup and the Beamish Cup take pride of place in the trophy cabinet at Ringmahon Park along with more silverware from the successful junior sides.

Our seniors won every local cup possible which has never been done before in the MSL.

"They were also runners-up in the league and Intermediate Cup so needless to say a remarkable season from all involved there. Obviously losing out for the league title and losing in the Intermediate Cup final were very hard to take but the lads showed great character to drive on and still gain success in all the cups.

“Our Junior Premier team won the league for the third time in row and also won the Junior Super Cup. Our Junior A team won the Second Division on top of winning the Third Division last year. They also won the John Hayes Cup which is a trophy that means so much to our club. Our Junior A side were also named MSL Junior Team of the Year in which we are very proud of.

Our U19s also won the league for the third time in a row and also won the Daly Cup so in the past three seasons our 19s have won seven trophies out of a possible nine.

"Again, another remarkable season and couldn’t have been done without the commitment and dedication from both players and management."

A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes.

"I would like to thank all the committee, management, players and supporters. It's a been a long season but seeing all the teams celebrate together with all the trophies makes it all worth it. We really are a great family and community club which is very evident at end-of-season events such as our awards.

"As the season has finally finished we would like to thank all our supporters who have supported us home and away and also a special mention to all the long-suffering wives and girlfriends. Ye can have a few weeks off before it all kicks off again,” laughs Fitzgerald.
